King Misuzulu KaZwelithini has announced through his traditional prime minister, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, that he would not be part of the upcoming 110th commemoration of King Dinuzulu. The commemoration is scheduled for KwaCeza near Ulundi on Sunday.
It is organised by the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government. It was first mooted by the ANC in the province and it later became a government event. To some the commemoration was seen as an abuse of state resources to counter the launch of the IFP’s manifesto at Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban on Sunday.
